Find Command

Bonsai Outliner for Windows > How Do I ... ? > Search the Outlines > Find Command

The desktop application Find command is located on the Edit menu.  You can also use the hotkey CTRL-F.

The command searches the current outline for the text. As you type your search string Bonsai will begin to search from the cursor location down and will stop on the first match. There are options to match case, search up the outline, and to search in notes. If you click Find Next and no match is found, Bonsai will ask if you'd like to search from the top of the outline.

If the edit control background turns red, the search string cannot be found.

Collapsed branches will be searched. Items that are not displayed because of a filter are not searched.

When the text is found in the outline, it is highlighted. Use the Find Again command to locate the next occurrence of the text.
