Outline Properties

Bonsai Outliner for Windows > Outline Properties

Outline Properties can be accessed by right clicking the outline in the Outline Manager window and selecting the properties menu item. It can also be opened while editing the outline by pressing the F10 key or right clicking the outline tab and select the properties menu. This dialog displays several properties of the outline as well as provides the option to rename the outline and configure the outline synchronization settings.

Synchronize with handheld - Enables synchronization to a Palm OS or Windows Mobile handheld.

Synchronize with file - Enables synchronization with another outline file. The outline could be on a USB drive for use with Bonsai Portable Outliner or on a network resource where the outline is being shared with other users. It can also be used to sync the outline to a Palm Pre Phone when using Bonsai on the Pre device in conjunction with the MotionApps Classic (Palm OS) emulator.

•	Synchronize on outline open and save - Enable to have Bonsai synchronize with the configured outline file whenever the outline is opened or saved. Syncing will also occur when Bonsai is started and reopens an outline. This will ensure the outline is kept in sync with the configured outline file.

Clicking the Sync with file now button will perform a manual sync with the configured outline file. The status of the sync operation will be displayed in the Bonsai status bar. If the drive specified is not available, a warning is displayed giving the user a chance to insert the USB drive or connect to a network resource before the synchronization is attempted. If the specified file is not found on the disk the user will be prompted if the file should be created.
