Bonsai Outliner for Windows > How Do I ... ? > Share Outlines with the Palm Pre

Palm's newest phone, the Palm Pre, runs WebOS and is not backwards compatible with applications built for Palm OS devices. However, thanks to the Classic emulator by MotionApps, the existing version of Bonsai is able to be used. In fact, the Bonsai application is certified for the Classic emulator. The only limitation is the lack of HotSync support.

Fortunately, Bonsai Desktop can be configured to synchronize outlines with the Palm Pre device when it is connected to the desktop and appears as a USB mass storage device. Use the "Synchronize with file" setting in the Outline Properties dialog and select the Bonsai Palm outline on the Pre phone (will be named NO_<Outline Name>.pdb).

Complete the following steps to complete the configuration:

Install Bonsai on the Palm Pre following these steps.
From Bonsai on the PC, open the outline file you wish to synchronize with the Palm Pre.
Press the F10 key to open the Outline Properties dialog.
Enable the synchronize with file option and specify the outline file to synchronize with. Specify an outline file located on the Pre in the  ClassicApps\PALM\PROGRAMS\Natara\Bonsai folder. The name must be in a format "NO_<outline name>.pdb". If this file does not exist (i.e. you did not copy the file from your Palm OS device), then click the sync with file now button so the outline file will be created.
From Bonsai on the Pre, at the Outline Manager screen, select View/Refresh menu.
The new outline should appear in Outline Manager in Bonsai on the Pre.
