Bonsai Outliner for Palm OS > How Do I ... ? > Use Bonsai on a Palm Pre Phone

Palm's newest phone, the Palm Pre, runs WebOS and is not backwards compatible with applications built for Palm OS devices. However, thanks to the Classic emulator by MotionApps, the existing version of Bonsai is able to be used. In fact, the Bonsai application is certified for the Classic emulator. See  Share Outlines with the Palm Pre more information about using Bonsai Desktop with a Palm Pre Phone.

Complete the following steps to install Bonsai on the Palm Pre:

Install MotionApps Classic emulator. Refer to their instructions for details.
Connect your Pre to your PC using a USB cable and select "USB Drive" mode on the Pre.
Install Bonsai to the Classic emulator. Do this by copying the Classic certified version of the Bonsai.prc file to the ClassicApps/Install folder on your Pre.

If you previously used Bonsai on a Palm OS device, you may want to copy the following files from your old device to the ClassicApps/Install folder on your Pre:

oBonsaiCategories.pdb
oBonsaiKeywords.pdb
oBonsaiOutlines.pdb
oBonsaiLinks.pdb
oyour icon file, if you use icons

Optionally copy your Palm OS outline files to the ClassicApps\PALM\PROGRAMS\Natara\Bonsai folder on your Pre.

oNO_<outline name>.pdb (Bonsai Desktop can create these for you but will not include any custom views you defined)
Configure your outlines to sync with the Palm Pre by following these steps.
