Options apply to all notes.

 

There are four (4) tabs under options: General, New, Password and Colors.

 

General Options:

 

Display time:When checked, this option shows the time for your notes. This is enabled by default.

 

Show minutes:Works in conjunction with the display time option. When checked, this option shows the minutes in the time for your note. This is enabled by default.

 

Show newest entry first:When enabled, the newest entry is at the top of the note list. This is disabled by default (the newest note is at the bottom).

 

Hide private entries:When enabled, this option hides your private entries. Disable this option to view these entries. This is disabled by default.

 

First day of the week:Choose whether you like your week to start on Sunday or Monday. Sunday is the default.

 

Database Location:Store your database in Main Memory or on your storage device. Any change will take effect when you close the Options dialog. The database is automatically moved to the new location. If an error occurs while moving the database, it will default back to the original location. See How do I create notes without storage card for more details.

 

New Options:

 

Defines new note defaults which are applied whenever a new note is created.

 

Use today's date:When checked, this option starts every new note with today's date. This is enabled by default.

 

Round time to nearest:Choose from no rounding, quarter hour, half hour or hour. No rounding is enabled by default.

 

Apply template:Choose a template to apply to new notes. See templates for full details of this option, default input mode and cursor location.

 

Default input mode:This is an information-only field. This field displays the template's input mode, which you set when you create the template. The possible settings are typing, writing or drawing.

 

Cursor location:This is an information-only field. This field displays the initial character position for the cursor, which you set when you create the template.

 

Password Options:

 

Used to password protect the DayNotez™ data. You will have to enter the password whenever DayNotez™ for Pocket PC starts up. To remove a password, leave the new password field blank. This password is configured independently of the DayNotez™ Desktop password. If you wish to password protect data on both the Pocket PC and the Desktop, you will need to configure the password in both DayNotez™ applications.

 

Current password:Enabled once you set a password. Type in your current password before you can set a new password.

 

New password:Type in the password you would like to set. Any characters are valid; you are limited to 128 characters in length. Tap Save to set the password.

 

Save:Saves any changes.

 

Color Options:

 

Configures the main screen background colors.

 

List bkgd colors:Change the background colors for the items you see in the main view. See color options for more detail.

 

Category bkgd colors:Change the background colors for categories. See color options for more detail.
