How Do I.... > Reinstall to Pocket PC > After hard reset
Follow these steps to reinstall after a hard reset (your device re-initialized and all programs and data were lost):
| 1. | Connect your Pocket PC to your desktop PC and ensure the device has an ActiveSync connection. The ActiveSync New Partnership wizard will lead you through the process of creating a new partnership. |
| 2. | From your desktop PC, install DayNotez™ on the Pocket PC by running “Start/Programs/Natara Software/Install DayNotez on PPC OS Device”. |
| 3. | Follow the wizard instructions. Additional information about the wizard can be found in the PC Install topic starting at step 5. |
| 4. | After the installation is finished and when the sync starts, you will be prompted to combine or discard your DayNotez™ for Pocket PC data. |
| a. | If you have a backup of your DayNotez™ files: |
| i. | Select cancel to abort the sync. |
| ii. | Restore the DayNotez™ for Pocket PC database by following the instructions under restore my database. |
| iii. | Synchronize and if asked to combine or discard your data, pick combine. |
| b. | If you do not have a backup of your database: |
| i. | Select discard. All your data from the desktop PC will be synced to the handheld. |
| ii. | You will need to reconfigure DayNotez™ for Pocket PC on the handheld to restore your preferences. |
