DayNotez User Interface > Dialogs > Settings > Password

This tab is used to configure the DayNotez password feature. This password is only used when starting DayNotez. It does not protect the DayNotez database itself from inspection by utilities that can view Palm OS database records.

SettingsPassword

This password is not used to hide entries marked Private. The Palm Security application is used to control if Private entries are masked or hidden. DayNotez can display the Palm Security dialog to hide or mask Private entries.

Grace Period - Enter a non-zero value in order to leave DayNotez to use another application and return without having to enter the password.

Use Hard buttons for entry - Check this option to enter the password by using the 4 application hard buttons. Button 1 will enter the letter 'a', button 2 will enter the letter 'b', and so on. This option should be remain off for devices like the Palm Treo 680 smartphone where the Home button is one of the 4 application  buttons. Otherwise it is more difficult to cancel the password entry and exit to the application launcher.
