DayNotez User Interface > Dialogs > Select Icon

This dialog is displayed to select an icon for a category or tag.

DayNotez supports the defacto icon standard established by Agendus (formerly Action Names) and now supported by several other Palm OS applications, such as Natara Bonsai and DateBk 5. Free and commercial icon sets are available online from many download sites. Here is an example of the DayNotez dialog used to select an icon from the icon set.

The Palm OS application Icon Manager (authored by Christopher Antos) can be used to create a private set of icons. At the time of this DayNotez release, Icon Manager version 1.6b is a free application available from most download sites. DayNotez can either share the icon set used by other applications or use a private set of icons.

IconManager

DayNotez searches for a single icon set to use. The order of preference is selecting the icon set is;

An icon set with the name "DayNotezIcons".
An icon set with the name "NataraIcons".
The default icon set. Use a tool like Icon Manager to set the default.
Any icon set.

NoteNote:        DayNotez references icons by their resource id.  This allows icons to be moved within icon sets without affecting existing outlines.

NoteNote:        By convention, icons should be given resource id's in the range from 0 to 8999.
