1.0 General
============================================================

This tool is for DayNotez users who would like to import
journal entries made using DateBk, Action Names, or PalmJournal
into DayNotez.

Action Names and DateBk use an un-timed event with the subject
of "Daily Journal" in the standard date book database for journal
entries. The import tool will look for and only import the
journal entries if they match this pattern.

Unlike DateBk, Action Names, and PalmJournal, DayNotez supports
a time attribute for each journal entry. As a convention,
DateBk, Action Names, and to a lesser extent PalmJournal insert
a time stamp as text into the day's journal entry. The import
tool will look for time stamp text within the journal entries
and create separate DayNotez entries for each section of text.
For journal entries where time stamp text can not be found, a
default time is provided.

Unlike DateBk, Action Names, and PalmJournal, DayNotez supports
categories. The import tool allows you to select the category
that will be assigned to imported entries.

This tool requires that you have already installed and
run Natara DayNotez on your Palm device.

The tool does not delete or change the original journal entries.

The tool does not copy any journal entries that have already
been archived to the desktop.

2.0 Instructions
============================================================

The following steps will guide you through migrating journal
entries from PalmJournal, DateBk, or Action Names into DayNotez.

1) Use the Palm Install Tool to install the migration tool
   "ImportToDayNotez.PRC"

2) Perform a HotSync. The DayNotez import tool is now installed
on your handheld and ready for use.

3) Run the "NDz Import" application.

4) Select the application you are migrating from. If your
journal entries were created using DateBk or Action Names,
   tap the Date Book button.

5) Choose a category for the imported entries.

6) Optionally, pick the earliest date you want to import. For
example, you may only want to import journal entries for
   the last month.

7) Tap "Import Now!". The journal entries will be added to
the DayNotez database. Depending on how many entries you have,
this can take several seconds, so please be patient. A
message is displayed when the import is complete. If you
run this twice, you will likely end up with duplicate entries
   in DayNotez.

8) Once the import is completed, you can delete the application
"DNz Import" to free up the space on your Palm device.
