Summer, 2003

Welcome to the quarterly Natara News update!

Summer is in full swing and so is Natara. We're busier than ever developing an exciting new product and fine-tuning an upgrade. Read on to see what's new!

DayNotez Handheld Release!

Tungsten T & C Owners Can Now "Talk to the Hand!"

That's right - you can now use DayNotez to record and organize voice memos on your handheld. Voice memos are saved as WAV files to your storage card, and copied to your desktop during synchronization.

Other enhancements in version 2.5.1 include:
  • Entries can be assigned a keyword. Keywords are a great way to go beyond the Palm 15 category limit. An auto-complete feature similar to the contact name field is used to speed entry.
  • Entries can be marked with a follow-up flag.
  • Multiple named filters for the list view (keyword and follow-up flag have been added to the filter).
  • When archiving entries, a copy can also be saved to a storage card. By archiving old entries you free up memory on your handheld, but the entries are still available for reference.
  • Import an event from the date book - a great way to start a new entry based on an appointment.
  • Support for the AlphaSmart Dana wide screen.
This is a free upgrade. Download the update from the Natara web site. Also available from PDAGreen.com. If you use DayNotez Desktop, be sure to use the DayNotez Desktop download as it includes an update to the DayNotez conduit. Sorry, but this update is not compatible with DayNotez for Outlook.

Watch for a DayNotez Desktop update later this year with support for the new handheld features.

New Product Beta Testers Needed

Natara Software will begin beta testing a new product next week. If you are a member of an organization that could benefit from an improved way of distributing calendar information to members, we need you! Please check the Natara Forums next week for details.
