Welcome to the quarterly Natara News update!

Happy New Year! It's cold here in Chicago, but we're warming things up with a hot release of the Natara Bonsai outliner.

Bonsai 3 Available!

Natara Software is excited to announce the release of Bonsai 3 - a major update to our popular full-featured outliner application with over 30 new features.

The Bonsai 3 desktop application has been greatly improved in several key areas. One significant addition is that of an Outline Manager Window. This dockable window organizes your outlines in a hierarchal manner giving you instant access to any outline. You can also control the synchronization, category and location of outlines.
But, the improvements are not limited to the desktop.
  • Handheld display options for color, numbering and toolbar icons have been improved.
  • Keywords and contact fields are now included.
  • Linking to events in the date book has been added.
  • Filtering options have been enhanced.
There's just not enough room here to list all the new features and improvements. If you would like to see the full list, please review the readme file and screen shots on the Natara web site.

This upgrade is free for customers who purchased a Bonsai license after July 29, 2003. The upgrade is available at a special price for customers who purchase before that date. Upgrade details are available on the Natara web site. You can download Bonsai 3 from the Natara web site and other handheld retailers.
Note: Your Bonsai 2 registration code will not work with Bonsai 3. Please see the upgrade info page link above

PalmSource & Palm OS 6

PalmSource shipped version 6 of the Palm Operating System to the handheld device manufacturers in early January. Over the coming months manufacturers will customize this software for use with the handhelds they produce. Using past releases as a guide, it should not be too long (early fall?) until we see Palm OS 6 based handhelds on store shelves.

What does that mean for Natara Software? For starters, Natara Software will be well represented at the PalmSource developer conference in San Jose next month. There we plan to stuff our heads with the exciting possibilities of Palm OS 6, and help to lead the rapid evolution of the handheld market.

We know your investment in Natara products goes way beyond the initial registration cost, and we appreciate your trust. For its part, Natara Software will invest to keep our products current.
